The Path of Respiratory Therapy Introduction About a year back, I returned home from work one night and strolled into the kitchen to where my mom was standing. Indonesia the problem of trans boundary haze

Indonesia the issue of trans limit cloudiness Presentation Manageability of condition turns into an implanted eco-political worry of improvement methodology in todays globalized world. Regardless of empowering monetary development, Transboundary fog contamination (THP) is bringing about a genuine threat to condition in South East Asian Nations (ASEAN). Smoke murkiness came about because of land and timberland fires much of the time originating from Indonesia, the biggest nation of this area, as an outcome of illicit logging, conventional horticultural activities and some unfavorable atmosphere conditions like El Nino South Oscillation (ENSO) have forced enormous financial and ecological expenses for the entire district. Alongside the steady risk of environmental change and corruption of biodiversity, the direct quantifiable effects contain enormous money related misfortune particularly for wellbeing harm, the travel industry misfortunes, and mechanical creation misfortunes. Singapore being the neighboring nation of Indonesia additionally end ures a great deal with the culmination. The individuals objection consistently pressurizes the legislature to maintain the countrys personal responsibility by relieving the financial misfortunes while actuating further worry to Indonesia. Simultaneously government likewise must be strategic in its intra-territorial methodology of managing the issue. It is a troublesome recommendation and the inquiry is the manner by which best Singapore can plan its strategy to extricate best arrangement of this persevering risk. Key Issue: From Singapores point of view, the THP is a result of ecological externality. Entire situation is somewhat mind boggling since under the local or reciprocal system, Singapore has next to no to do to determine the issue without anyone else. Sandler (1997) contends that cloudiness free condition in ASEAN area is non-excludable and non-rivalrous aggregative kind of open great whose complete advantage is the totting up of individual endeavors. Such a worldwide open products gives space for key activities by nations worried that would result into problematic results. Sandler reasons that such key methodology along these lines can make a Prisoners Dilemma if the costs counterbalance the advantages. In this specific circumstance, Lin and Rajan (2001) communicated their anxiety on disappointment of such multilateral arrangement because of clashing inclinations and needs between nations for decreasing these types of contamination. Along these lines, a two-sided approach towards environmental and eco-political key alternatives instead of multilateral methodology ought to be progressively successful for this THP. In any case, as far as taking right technique, Singapore is by all accounts into a Prisoners Dilemma like circumstance, which is the key issue to be tended to for managing this durable issue. Why this issue is the most significant: ASEANs local endeavors to determine THP has been confronting solid difficulties because of absence of ties and participation from all gatherings. Florano (2004-05) states that both 1995 ASEAN Cooperation Plan on Transboundary Pollution and RHAP of 1997 was inadequate because of its ASEAN ways accentuation on volunteerism. Jayachandaran (2005) alludes that, Indonesia-the host of THP, has been so hesitant to execute the understandings because of its interior socio-political elements. Tan (2005) additionally contends that Indonesias mentality of non-sanction of ATHP has been disturbing powerful territorial participation from ASEAN nations in this issue. Tacconi et.al.,(2008), notwithstanding these, focuses on the lacking of worldwide observing, consistence and assessment in ATHP. At such an inauspicious circumstance, Singapore independent of other influenced nations needs to choose its own methodologies dependent on by and large result while coming out the heartbreaking circumstance wit h time. Arrangements: Choice 1. Actuate more weight on Indonesia: There is a gathering of examiner who believe that force bi-parallel weight on Indonesia to act emphatically towards the issue. This is increasingly a political methodology. They contend for consistent raising of this issue during respective gatherings with Indonesian partners, which would work while reminding them about the antagonistic impact of this inaction would affect the two-sided relations. Indeed, this is likewise upheld by certain confirmations in ongoing past. Previous outside service authority of Singapore Gerald Giam states that, Suggested Policy Actions: a. Exchange boundaries: Singapore has immense formal and casual cross-outskirt exchange with Indonesia. Truth be told, Indonesia is Singapores fourth biggest exchanging accomplice 2009 with absolute exchange adding up to S$58.5 billion, up from S$75.1 billion out of 2008 (source: IE Singapores StatLink, 2010). Singapore imports palm oil and elastic from Indonesia, while Indonesia gigantically relies upon Singapore for some assembling, gadgets merchandise and enterprises. Figure shows a huge exchange advantage (estimated in net fare) for Singapore. There are additionally numerous Singapore-based MNC in Indonesia. So any sorts of exchange boundary could make some weight on Indonesia as of now. Singapore-Indonesia two-sided exchange (S$ Thousands):â Singapores Data 2008 2009 Imports 24,827,467 20,659,212 Fares 50,299,127 37,857,815 Absolute Trade 75,126,594 58,517,027 Source: IE Singapores StatLink b. Press Other Development Projects: Singapore underpins Indonesia to set up most serious modern zone at Batam, Bintan and Karimun facilitated commerce zone (BBK-FTZ)where they can create electronic, shipbuilding and system stockpiling and server industry which would bring enormous financial lift for those district of Indonesia. So diminishing the size of venture or mechanical help would broaden the weight over Indonesia. c. Territorial association against Indonesian ascribes approach: For mounting the weight on Indonesia, Singapore government can act to shape a gathering of victim fusing different nations like Malaysia, Brunei or Thailand and spot their issue to International court for Environmental questions. Malaysia as of now has taken essential readiness to do that. This would be appalling for this territorial trustworthiness, be that as it may, enduring nations the enduring nations could yet consider that. Examination of results: Responding towards the open clamor, Singapore government may need to go for such sort of impulsive strategy as long as it works for some time. They can expect opportune and powerful activities taken by Indonesian government for modifying speculators trust in Indonesia, Indonesias universal greatness and ASEANs uprightness would not be influenced. Be that as it may, in the more extended run, this pressurize arrangement would result unsteadiness in local solidarity and mix. The idea and target of ASEAN would be hampered too. Then again, this strategy would not have the option to carry any moment answer for the issue. Alternative 2. Increase Cooperation to Indonesia with area explicit respective tasks against THP: In a detainees quandary, the participation system frequently amplify the result for both the gatherings. In spite of the fact that the THP is the externality come about because of Indonesia, yet to get some positive ramifications of this issue, every single concerned gathering ought to adequately act and help each other in a coordinated way so the level of peril catches time. After Sub-Regional Ministerial Steering Committee on Transboundary Haze Pollution (MSC) in November 2006, 35 fire-inclined areas in 8 territories have been distinguished into Indonesias Plan of Actions for guaranteed thought. Indonesia has welcomed ASEAN nations to cooperate to build up its ability to handle land and woods fires in those fire-inclined territories. Singapore as of now has reacted decidedly to stretch out its collaboration to Indonesias State Ministry of Environment (KLH) to execute the designs for overseeing area and timberland fires at Jambi Province. Suggested Policy Actions: a. Broaden specialized and money related backings: The US$1 million Jambi region venture is by all accounts a triumph up until now. Ongoing examination uncovers that the quantity of problem areas investigated from timberland fires has diminished by one-fifth in most recent couple of years. So following the experience of this achievement, Singapore can expand its participation with innovation and account for some different areas that straightforwardly cause issue to them. b.More bolster territories: Some proactive avoidance observing and approach can be started with most ideal specialty of-states. These may include: Socialization Workshop for ranchers on Sustainable Farming (for example Developing yields without turning to consuming) Building up the Capacity of local people in comprehension and deciphering the Satellite pictures and hotspot data Creating neighborhood land-use map Introducing Geographical Information System to encourage the observing of fire and dimness and survey appropriately Creating air and climate observing stations Upgrade putting out fires and concealment Capacities of nearby individuals. c. Better observing and Positive criticisms: The result of the above joint effort tasks ought to be checked in normal premise and the achievement part ought to be communicated to other people with the goal that it would offer constructive hints to different countries to approach settling the enduring issue. Investigation of the results: Unquestionably these coordinated effort tasks would result increasingly money related expense for Singapore. Be that as it may, government assistance ought to find out with the ramifications of near preferred position systems. Actually, elements ought to be sent by the relative preferences every nation has. For example, Singapore could offer specialized and money related help with ability in dealing with the natural contamination wide-spreading, while Indonesia would furnish with some less expensive work and different foundations. Singapore can stretch out its help to some locale particularly the Sumatra that makes more issues to it. Once more, more innovation move would likewise guarantee more income and at last a faster recuperation of the desperate circumstance. Picking the Option: Thinking about the accompanying three components Ecological Sustainability Short run

preparation for grad school app COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY - SIPA Admissions Blog If you’re starting to apply to public policy programs, I remember being in your shoes.   It can be nerve wracking and frustrating especially when you have   years of professional experience, but in a non-traditional field. Coming from a background of working on political campaigns, I knew what skills I had developed and how they could help me be successful at SIPA, but I wasn’t sure how my resume would translate to an admissions committee that might not be familiar with the intense work environment, time management, and quantitative   skills that one builds on the campaign trail. Luckily for me I was able to make that argument because, here I am! I want to share some advice I wish someone had given me early in the application process. These tips can be useful to everyone, but especially those coming from a non-traditional working environment. Here is some advice I wish someone had given me in preparation for the grad school application process. 1) Take some classes.  Even though SIPA does not require any specific courses as a prerequisite to admission, you need to be able to show you have strong quantitative skills on your application.   I   knew where these skills came into play on a campaign,   but I knew it would be less obvious to others and scoring well in a math or econ class can help solve that as well as give you a leg up in your first year econ courses. In addition, if your grades werent great in college, as mine were not,   taking classes gives you an opportunity to prove that youve matured. Finally if youve been out of school for a while, its an opportunity to cultivate an academic reference, and one who is more experienced in writing letters of recommendation than your professional colleagues are likely to be, which brings me to number 2 2) Give your references plenty of warning, and coaching.  You should probably do this anyway, but it goes double if your references are from a field where they are not usually called on to give a recommendation.   In my case asking my former bosses to write a reference in October of an election year would have been far from ideal. You dont want to miss out on a reference who knows you well because they dont have time and you dont want them to do a rushed job. In addition, your friends and colleagues may be unfamiliar with the application process so it useful to give them plenty of coaching about writing a good recommendation.  Send them a copy of your personal statement so they have a sense of your professional goals and can relate that back to your prior experience. Talk to admissions officers  (or read on our website) about what we are looking for in an application and then use your recommendations to highlight your strengths with specific examples and to help address any holes. 3) Start your applications early, not just the essay.  I made this mistake with my early applications. I spent weeks writing answers to the long essay questions, but had not considered what I would include in my resume, what if anything, I would write about having been sick in college in the portion where they ask if there is any additional information the admissions committee should know, and how long it would take to track down and upload my transcripts in the proper format. Ideally I would fill all of these out ahead of time, and have uploading my final essays as the last step. 4) Visit the campus.  Trying to distinguish between schools from their websites and viewbooks is kind of like online dating- you wont get a real feel for them until you meet them in person. Undergraduate institutions have distinct personalities and so do their graduate counterparts. Not only will pre-application visits save you time and money on applying to places you wouldnt actually want to go, they will help you get a feel for the culture of the school and thus what to include in your application.  SIPA offers info sessions on most Mondays and Fridays as well as the opportunity to sit in on classes and interact with current students. Send us an email! I’d be happy to help you set this up. 5) Be able to make an argument for why you need your degree.  I like to joke that I have a PhD in Campaign Management from the school of hard knocks, and yet here I am pursuing a Masters of Public Administration.   Think long and hard about what you want out of a graduate degree and which programs fit your career goals before you begin to apply. If you cant explain to yourself why you need a degree from that institution to achieve your goals, then how can you explain it to the school? There is no shame in researching a program and deciding it isn’t the right fit for you. The more specifically you   can articulate how your program of choice will help you reach your goals,   the better your chance of admission and the better for you personally. Im looking forward to helping you through the process! Best of Luck, Nancy Nancy Leeds is a Democratic Campaign Operative and blogger  pursuing her MPA in Social Policy and Management at SIPA.   She is specifically interested in voting rights and electoral systems.

Volcanic Eruptions - One of Mother Natures Deadly Forces - Free Essay Example

Volcanic eruptions can be explosive or they cannot. It all depends whether the magma is thin or thick. If the magma is thin then gases can escape easily. When this type of magma erupts then it will pour out of the volcano. If the magma is thick and sticky then gases cannot escape easily. This causes the pressure to build up which then results in explosions as a way to release the trapped gases. The effects of thin magma pouring out of a volcano can be bad. Melted magma can reach temperatures of 2,221 degrees Fahrenheit so you can probably guess that anything it touches will be destroyed from the heat. The effects of thick and sticky magma are explosions. These explosions are dangerous and can be deadly. In these types of explosions the magma explodes into the air and breaks into pieces of Tephra. The Tephra can range in sizes from tiny particles, to boulders, to the size of houses. They also blast out huge clouds of Tephra. These fiery clouds race down the volcano destroying everything in their path. Volcanoes usually give off warnings before they erupt. There are many different signs, but each helps detect how bad the eruption will be. These signs include small earthquakes underneath the volcano, an increase in seismic waves, slight swelling of the volcano, and an increase in heat and gas pressure. Warning signs of a possible volcano eruption can be detected weeks sometimes months in advance. If the volcano is said to erupt at any time the local government for the area will call for an evacuation. One of the ways to prepare for volcanic eruption is to make an emergency supplies kit. This is an easy and affordable thing to do. Inside the kit should be non-perishable food, water, a battery powered radio or hand-cranked radio, flashlights, extra batteries, and a first aid kit. Another great thing to have is a family emergency plan. It is important to have a specific meeting place in case everyone isnt together during an eruption. When authorities issue an evacuation order please listen and leave the area near the volcano. If for some reason you are unable to evacuate then make sure you are indoors with all windows, doors, and ventilation systems closed to protect you from falling debris and ash, and mud slides. The effects of volcanic eruptions can be big and can be felt as far away as a different continent. If you have an explosive eruption the outcome can be devastating. The magma that spews out of the volcano can travel for miles destroying every single plant, structure, and habitat in its way. The ash also deems as a threat. The ash can cause damage to structures depending on amount, and if it is breathed in it poses as a choking risk. The effects on cities and towns could vary from none to a lot; it all depends on the type of explosion. All volcanic eruptions should be handled with caution and care. Volcanic eruptions can be dangerous catastrophic events with unimaginable outcomes. If you are ever in or near the radius of an eruption then please take all necessary cautions to assure your safety.

I Can See How College Writing - 959 Words

I can see how College Writing 101 could have been easy for some, people coming straight out of high school that is, with all the skills still fresh in their minds, but I can say with absolute certainty that this was a challenge for me to complete. Although, I began Writing 101 with very few writing skills and even fewer grammar skills, I can honestly say looking back that I retained a great deal of knowledge in a surprisingly short amount of time. Never the less, I found out one of the hardest challenges in my fledgling writing career is actually deciding what to write about for each assignment. subsequently I had to figure out the whole â€Å"College Correct† way of writing and fragment everything together. Yet, once I finally did, then all it demanded was figuring out how to create a thesis statement that will provide me with something of substance to build off of for the rest of the essay. First of all, being that this was my first online class, during the beginning week I spent a majority of my time getting familiarized with the online classroom and all its features. Additionally, I made sure to download the entire textbook to my iPhone so I could read it on the go and during breaks at work. Based upon our values and experience taught they are some of the determination factors that lead us to decide who we are attracted to in terms of gender. In today’s world there is variability in sexuality that has allowed people to accept it as a moral behavior. Yet they are people of religious faith who see sexuality on a whole another scale that is based on the ideas of heteronormativity and the rejection of what society see same sex practices. For me I internalized biblical values that conflicts with the ideas of diverse sexuality because it include same-sex intercourse. Nevertheless through the works of Alfred C. Kinsey, C.J Pascoe, Lisa L. Diamonds John Corvino and Tech they all point out the beauty of sexual fluidity and they all challenge heteronormativity because it limits sexual freedom. Furthermore, they explain the importance of people’s gender presentation. For their re ading I learned to be more spathic of marginalized groups such as homosexuals, be more open to sexual fluidity despite my religious value, and have enough respect for people preferred gender and sexuality. Coming up as a young kid from South Central Los Angeles homosexuality was not the norm. Please Respond and illustrate with reference to specific examples of (a) theory and (b) reality 2.Please review and assess the key features of both realism and liberalism theories and please identify the criteria you use for review and for Please answer with reference to examples. 3.You are an advisor to three different policy-makers and you have to convince them, individually, that the best theory in IR is, respectively, Realism, Pluralism and Globalism. Write the main arguments you would use in favor of each theory and why this theory in particular is the more appropriate. Answers: 1. The international theory is the investigation of the international relations from a hypothetical point of view. [1]It as a rule endeavors to give a theoretical system in which the universal hypothesis can be broke down (Zehfuss and Maja 2000). As indicated by Ole Holsti highlights the global relations hypotheses as acting like the sets of the shaded shades, which permit the wearer to see just remarkable occasions that are important to the contention (Jackson, Robert, and George 2016). A case is a disciple of Realism that may totally dismiss a reality that a constructivist may jump as vital. The universal relations speculations are separated into positivist methodologies that attention on the state level examination and the reflectivist that corporates the extended implications of security; that extents from the class to sex and the post-provincial security (Zehfuss and Maja 2000). It is huge to note there are different clashing methods for deduction exist in the global hypothesis; they incorporate constructivism, Marxism, and institutionalism. The Utilization of IR Theory This methodology helps the political pioneers to comprehend the world and have the capacity to shape the outside arrangements. The global reality to some awesome degree is made, guided and formed by the utilization of the reasonable model that to be ascendant when the remote approach choices are made. Consequently, the utilization of this hypothesis brings some satisfactory attention to comprehend the universal relations and the outside approach basic leadership. A case of the utilization of hypothesis use is to affect the general population, more so in a setting that will have any kind of effect to their activities. On the truth a couple of years prior in the New York, William Wallace had conveyed an address concerning what he asked people to go out into the enormous world and get to be locked in. [2]He needed individuals to wind up persuasive and talk reality and force. In any case, there were pundits like Ken Corner and Smith who had reacted that the idea of being an impact is mor e confounded than any of them can permit, and some of the time people neglect to confront the significant issues that are adequately specifically. In some cases the utilization of the hypothesis help us to have the capacity to adapt to the ordinary life individuals might be scared by the word. In the realm of universal relations, no individual can be. The idea of the hypothesis, overall, has inhabited to create thoughts of having some commonsense point as a primary concern, and having the capacity to take a gander at the things or occasions with some reasonable purposes. This can be unmistakably be seen when people get the opportunity to feel for this when they think about the physical exertion alone which went into setting up a given occasion or an assignment. 2. Realism is one of the most seasoned and still predominant type of the IR theories. The key elements of this theory is the features. One of them is the state is the key players of the worldwide relations. Besides, the global anarchic as in there is no more power over the state. Another viewpoint is that national interest is regularly characterized as the force, is normally the premise for the state conduct (Burchill, Scott, Andrew, Richard Devetak, Jack Donnelly, Terry, Matthew, Paterson, Christian and Jacqui 2013). Next component connected with the hypothesis, the contention at times prompting the war is a characteristic and persevering element of the global relations. Illustration, if war can be kept away from, yet incidentally, it is generally because of the inclination of the states to adjust each of the other. Lastly, the universal organizations are minimal to the session of the global relations. Overall, they are generally subservient to the more prominent force impulse, and the control is compelling just to the extent these forces permit them to.[3] There are notable components inside Realism. The basic Realism of the Waltz holds that insurgency and the dissemination of the force are the principle determinants of the state conduct, in this way difficult the established Realism that takes the human instinct to be the essential causal variable of the universal relations fundamentally (Krugman 2008). The easygoing and the prescient elements of Realism have fixated on the contentions; an illustration is toward the end of the Icy War would not prompt stable peace yet rather unleashed new types of between state struggle and the powerful rivalry that are portrayed by multipolar frameworks. The hostile realists have concentrated on the ascent of China and its coming clash with the USA that is seen as the pre-famous worldwide business as usual of the force (Guzzini 2000). On the progressivism, it is a hypothesis of contention; it focusses fundamentally on the r easons for participation and the instruments of acknowledging universal request. Much the same as Realism, it has a few strands yet rather they are commonly strengthened than interior contestations. One component of the hypothesis is that the state makes its inside political theory the objectives of its outside arrangement. A case a dreamer ought to trust that consummation neediness at home could be combined with the handling of the destitution abroad. Another element is that the hypothesis holds that the inclination of the state, as opposed to the state abilities are the essential determinant of the conduct of the state. Not at all like Realism where the state is viewed as a unitary on-screen character, has progressivism taken into account the majority of the activities of the state.[4] In this way, inclinations will shift from one state-to-state contingent upon the way of life, government sort, and the financial framework (Buckley, Peter and Mark 2010). In addition, radicalism hol ds that the communication between the states is not typically constrained to the political, but rather likewise the financial or the way of life through associations or the people. On the criteria for the evaluation, there was the recognizable proof of the components that existed on both of the hypotheses and afterward arrangement of the significant illustrations that were material exposed war and the post-frontier period (Gilpin 2016). 3. Realism Theory The Realism theory is the transcendent the school of thought in the global relations hypothesis. The contention has a tendency to depend on the antiquated conventions of the possibility of early researchers (Barnett, Michael, and Raymond 2005). The fundamental contention of the hypothesis is that the states are constantly occupied with as battle for the force. The hypothesis advocate for the utilization of the ability to satisfy the enthusiasm of a country, the hypothesis is a perspective of universal governmental issues, which weighs on it is focused and the conflictual side (Donnelly 2000). The main on-screen character in the universal field as the state that is worried with their security demonstration in the quest for their national advantages and the battle for the force. As a strategy producer, the utilization of this universal hypothesis you tends to settle on a choice that depends on the advantage of the national and more so the ones that do not trade off the security of the state. This hypothesis can go about as the rule towards making of that approach (Barnett, Michael, and Raymond 2005). Pluralism Theory on Contentions: [5]On this hypothesis, it contends that diverse gatherings run a nation as opposed to a person. The pluralism scrutinizes direct vote based system and rather it puts energy to the gatherings like the coalitions, unions, and the halls(Waltz 2010). The hypothesis does not imply that every one of the gatherings included are equivalent, or they have the same measure of the force. The arrangement creators who have the decentralized skills in the legislature ought to give the forces to the neighborhood government to advance decentralize on the force. There should be the presence of various branches, which controls the distinctive part of the framework to empower not one individual or a gathering, has the control of much power. The crucial component of this hypothesis there ought to be a partition of the force and the arrangement of the checks and the equalizations (Onuf, Nicholas 2012). Globalism Theory Globalism includes the support to translate or plan of the monetary and the remote strategy in relations to the occasions and the advancement all through the world. In addition, it might involve the hypothesis of the worldwide economy in which the accomplishments of above all else the countries are related to those of different nations all through the world because of the element of universal exchange. This has been conceivable because of the late changes in the innovation more so web. Controlling Endogeneity in Strategic Management Research †Sample

Question: Describe about the Controlling For Endogeneity With Instrumental Variables In Strategic Management Research? Answer: Introduction: A Joint Venture is a business agreement where there is involvement of parties and they one for a specific related project and contribute together to form new equity and new assets. Both the parties exercises control over the enterprise and share all the expenses revenues together. It can be termed as an undertaking under rules of Company Law. A joint venture is usually done specifically for a particular time period related to a particular project. In this both the parties come along and equally invest their share in terms of money, time and efforts to build up the enterprise again. This research is been done according to the international energy sector to develop a joint venture model and a development and assessment tool. This tool represents a proper method and approach which can provide evidences on modern business intelligence so that the potential partners of a business enterprise can assess the joint venture easily and find out the basic financial and technological capabilities of the business as a whole. There must be a balanced score card technique involved in order to check the responsible partners of the enterprise that could be made involved. This kind of models can be used by the business enterprise to expand their business potential and growth and by this way companies can mitigate or lower their risks of uncertainties and they can also become a part of the stakeholders as well. Analysis of the Joint Venture Enterprise Chosen: The joint venture enterprise chosen for this research work is Eskom Enterprises. The company was developed in the year 1999 and it is a wholly owned subsidiary of Eskom. The main purpose of the enterprise was to venture into a number of foreign countries such as in South America, India, Middle East etc. The energy sector is a global initiative that leads to industrial development which in turn leads to the generation of the economic development of a nation as a whole. We know that in Africa the national economy is not up to the mark and is relatively unprogressive in nature. Through such socio-economic development programmes the company enjoys both political and economic support to develop Africas energy sector. The company should also build up the ability to sustain competitive advantage and globalise itself as a powerful market along with available resources. There must be a collaboration along with other players in the market so that this kind of challenge can be overcome. Recently the company is disadvantaged with a poor track record of joint ventures, particularly those related to African market itself. The company has a portfolio of about 55 projects and it was inferred from the evidences that all of them had some sort of collaboration along with other companies as well. 26% o f the projects have been accomplished, 47% are under work in progress and the remaining have failed in execution and implementation (Bascle, 2008). There must be compelling factors involved which would urge other companies to join the organization such as risk sharing, organizational learning and facilitating global expansion. The key drivers associated with joint venture: Generate alternatives: There are many risks involved and associated with any business enterprise therefore it is necessary to check such risks if companies can merge with a particular company or not. The investors must actively ensure all these risks associated and develop reasonable alternatives in the early planning stage to manage the production in various levels. There must be standard investment and transaction practices which could create problems related to foreign exchange, accounting and tax rules also. In the acquisition context, it would mean generation of alternative ways of paying the shareholders in terms of their own shares (Bourhis Leduc, 2009). Focus on Long term competition: The joint venture businesses are always refereed as strong competitors. Sometimes it is seen that the foreign investors lose whole of its products from the source market and sometimes they also get associated with previous joint venture companies as well. There is always a risk or uncertainty of enabling or establishing a competitor. Therefore it is necessary to evaluate all the necessary aspects in this regard and according to the above mentioned fact (Bromiley, Navarro Sottile, 2008). Knowledge about the partners motives: There must be a necessity of active participation in terms of operational work that is to be done. Sometimes foreign investors generally come along with a profit making motive only but they cannot align it with the strategic fit of the company as a whole. If the companies come with a strategic motive then the partners can gain technology, knowhow and can ultimately develop new product and processes. Such motives are both collaborative as well as competitive in nature. It is also necessary to maintain the brand name and reputation of the parent company therefore it is essential to investigate all the potential records associated with the partner so that no non regulatory activity emerges (DeSarbo Grewal, 2008). Defining the markets and products: It is very critical to analyse and conclude the joint ventures products in its core markets. This can often lead to overlapping with each others products as well as markets and specific obligations of the parties can also compete along with each other. Therefore it is necessary to demand none competing commitments from the resource partners after the agreement is over. Technology transfer: This is a point where foreign investors products are mostly exposed to the market. Therefore it is the responsibility to avail all the contractual and practical safeguards and use them to develop products in the market. The technology being used must be segmented and distinguished so that the core competency is not exposed. The critical parts of the technology should be divided in terms of core competent parts and the necessary materials needs to be sent to the joint venture by the foreign company. It is necessary to retain the ownership and all the improvements that have been implemented. All the tracking measures must be updated and necessarily checked ('Corporate sustainability', 2008). Commitment to the process: Joint Ventures are complex entities that completion of them requires rigorous commitment of management resources by the parties. The drafting and negotiation process must be done effectively in order to reach the agreement. Benefits Associated with the Joint Venture: In order to analyse the benefits of Joint Ventures the partners must realize the critical elements that help in shaping the business strategy of the company and also identifies various interactions among each of the determinants in context of the culture of the company. The different elements are as follows: Technology Strategy: This is related with the management and technological assets of the company and the overall integration of corporate strategic intent so that there is an ensurance of competences with industrial benchmark. Financial Strategy: This is related to the policies and mechanisms to ensure sustainability and profitability of the company along with financial prosperity (Fraser, 2008). Human Capital: This is related to the people or employees of the company that a company employs and the available capacity of the company that can be linked with the human skill and knowledge of these people. Ecno-political environment: This is presented as the political dynamics that is available within a particular region or country and this impact has a overall impact on the national economy as well (Lee, Zhao Ma, 2010). The Joint venture must have good partnership abilities which can be demonstrated as a value added perspective for the company. There must be a proper synergy created by all the individual contributors. It is believed that good joint venture not only lie only in the execution of the project but also in accuracy of selecting the associate partner as well. A good partnership is the one that has the ability to add value to the entire spectrum of the joint ventures primary as well as secondary business activities. It must also aid in ling term decision making of the company along with profit making business associated with the business activities. After mapping the capabilities by a potential partner the venture development manager can gain a holistic view of the joint capabilities of the partnership firms as well and if any gaps are present those gaps can also be identified by the potential partners. All the capabilities of a business firm must be matched along with the industry standard as well. Potential issues with the Joint Venture: Every company along with its resource partner has some issues related to the growth or profit making ability of the business. Both the companies had a strong focus on persuing investment opportunities in the energy sector. The joint venture will strongly focus on the private equity investment opportunities in the energy sector. The business will strongly focus on private equity investments in those companies who are engaged with oil and gas production, mining and energy services and other related operational work. There is a plan of the joint venture to target annual investment opportunities between USD $100 million and USD $ 200 million (Shaw, 2000). The company is planning to invest as a strong entrepreneurial management teams who have a strong reliable strategy that can lead to growth and development and this will lead to creation of values based on competitive advantages and sustainable growth of the business as a whole. The joint venture may also strengthen the strategic, operational, financial and technical capabilities of the respective organizations to invest and grow in the operating companies that are capable to achieve a grip in the mining industries as well. There is a possible issue regarding inclusion of acquisition strategies to enhance the value of the company in the oil and gas sector and lower risk exploration strategies. In other sectors, the Joint Venture will try to impact on recent breakthroughs in the development of unconventional oil and gas resource developments to increase store and capabilities (Thompson Martin, 2010). Key Recommendations given to the Joint Venture: Aligning the techno-financial strategies of the Partners: It is previously mentioned that the business strategy is composed by four basic elements : technology, finance , econo political environment and human capital,. Out of the four technology and finance are of more importance that can aid in strategic decision of companies within a technology based industry such as the power sector. These determinants help in screening the aspects of the joint venture model. The human capital aspect plays a side role here as much of the task is technology oriented and is operational work that is done by machines itself. Need for a strategic fit between partners: In any joint venture there are particularly two basic qualities required: one is strategic fit and the other is the cultural fit. There is interaction required between these two qualities to show the relative importance of these two qualities in accordance to the organization (Uggla Verick, 2008). The strong partnership is highlighted in the extreme right quadrant of the matrix which depicts that there is a effective strategic and cultural fit between the companies. The bottom left quadrant depicts that there is a total mismatch between both the partners and there is no point in building any relationship further with that particular company. There are many industries that progress from the top left quadrant to the top right quadrant. The bottom right quadrant on the contrast expresses conflicting strategic intents. It do not aid in any kind of competitive advantage to both the partners as a whole and as a result the company remains unaffected. Conclusion: Joint Ventures are generally technology based industries. They believe in acquiring effective alternatives in various other fields such as the power sector. Such industries try to out lay fixed costs so that it can acquire new capabilities. All the individual capabilities and resources are integrated so that both the companies can be benefitted by cooperative strategies along with the competitive strategies of the company that are limited only to the profitability and sustainability of the business as a whole. There must be a mutual understanding and cooperation among the partners so that the partnerships can be mitigated with the risks involved and also includes facilitation from the national governments which are considered as the primary shareholders in the energy sector. There lies acknowledgement in success of the joint venture in accordance to the strategic and cultural issues influencing the partnership as a whole . The joint venture model also presents a systematic approach t o determine the accomplishments for both the companies as a whole. There must lie a systematic approach related to the modern business intelligence and so that the related potential business venture can be assessed and developed. The model also acts as an instrument in screening all the potential partners resources based on their core capabilities of financing and technology. This model acts as a robust tool to determine economic growth and sustainable business expansion. References: Aaker, D.Strategic market management. Bascle, G. (2008). Top Tips For Writing a Sample Essay

Top Tips For Writing a Sample EssayWhether you're teaching a child about the importance of telling the truth or preparing for an interview with potential employers, completing a sample essay on any topic can be a time-saver. While it's good to make sure that your students have all the information they need, writing a unique sample essay can sometimes require a little bit more work than necessary. Here are some tips for helping you write a compelling sample essay. This may seem like a common problem, but this one can become a real drag. When you write an essay that's either too long or too short, it often comes across as not personal and doesn't give a clear idea of who you are. A sample essay is often one of the first things that a student notices when they come to class, so you want to take time to get it just right. Don't let your writing style detract from the true nature of the essay. Do not allow yourself to get overwhelmed with the difficulty of your assignment.Every year, I hav e students complete a 'behind the scenes' reading list. They come in and read the paper, but they also comment on their favorite passages. The first step you can take here is to give your students the opportunity to do the same thing.Be sure to choose a good one and ensure that you only choose those that you think are going to be interesting for them. When writing a comment section, you want to make sure that it fits with the overall tone of the essay and gives insight into your teaching philosophy.Another common mistake is for students to completely neglect the introduction. Before writing an essay, it's important to lay the foundation. Be sure to include an explanation of the purpose of the paper, your students' expectations, and a timeline for completion.Makesure that you have a strong opening statement that states why you're writing the essay. If you're short, make sure that your opening sentence or paragraph is short. Don't be afraid to tell a story or to give examples, as long as you know your audience. As a teacher, it's important that you provide an honest description of the year's paper in addition to giving an introduction. Let your students know that you're taking the time to prepare for the test by explaining your rationale for the topics you chose. If you've done your homework well, they'll see that you've made an effort to research your subject and give you the chance to properly teach them in the future.

Nightmare by Avenged Sevenfold free essay sample

After the death of their drummer and friend, Jimmy â€Å"The Rev† Sullivan, nobody expected Avenged Sevenfold to continue making music. However, this summer the band released â€Å"Nightmare,† their fifth studio album. Fans will notice that M. Shadows vocals arent nearly as nasal or whiny as in previous albums, but rather show a more aggressive and emotional tone. Also, the album tries to restore the bands former sound by using heavier guitar riffs and even a bit of screaming, which Shadows hasnt done since their second album, â€Å"Waking the Fallen.† As always, the band likes to experiment with new sounds; you can hear trumpets, marching bands, whispering, and even whistling, which I think many fans will enjoy. â€Å"Nightmare† opens with the title track and an eerie xylophone that creates an uncomfortable feeling, and almost instantly kicks into pounding drums and fast, dark guitar riffs. The next few tracks are both heavy and catchy. We will write a custom essay sample on Nightmare by Avenged Sevenfold or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page â€Å"Welcome to the Family† will stick in your head for days, while â€Å"Danger Line† is dedicated to the American troops. The first ballad,â€Å"So Far Away,† is written by guitarist Synyster Gates for his late friend, The Rev. The song features Zacky Vengeance on an acoustic guitar, clean vocals, and a climactic ending with strings and a guitar solo. Nothing thus far prepared me for the next track. Titled â€Å"God Hates Us,† the song is easily one of the heaviest and most aggressive the band has written. It begins with a bit of a fake out, with a clean intro but then from nowhere kicks in with thunderous double bass, heavy guitars, and a lot of screaming from M. Shadows. The song will definitely appeal to a new audience as well as old fans. At this point, the albums focus changes from heavy and aggressive to emotional and slow. The next two songs, â€Å"Victim† and â€Å"Tonight the World Dies,† definitely slow the pace with some of the best ballads the band has created. â€Å"Tonight the World Dies,† will be a song most will overlook because its slow. The chorus and bridge have deep vocals and are climactic without the build-up you expect. The next, â€Å"Fiction,† is easily the hardest to listen to, and for most fans will likely bring them to tears. This song was written by The Rev only three days before his passing and was originally titled â€Å"Death.† If that isnt enough irony, the song is basically Sullivan saying his good-byes, with the last line, â€Å"I know youll find your own way, when Im not with you tonight.† The song actually features Sullivan and Shadows on vocals, as well as a very dark and creepy piano. The last song, â€Å"Save Me,† is the longest at almost 11 minutes. It includes just about every element the band has ever used, including dueling guitar solos, clean guitars, heavy riffs, catchy choruses, dark piano parts, and powerful lyrics. The album culminates with dynamic drum fills and the line â€Å"Tonight we all die young.† Overall, I believe fans will enjoy â€Å"Nightmare† and might even find it better than some of Avenged Sevenfolds previous work. â€Å"Nightmare† is worth the listen. New and old fans will enjoy listening front to back and will give Avenged Sevenfold the support they need to continue making music after the death of their friend.
